Physics of nanostructured systems Starting from the knowledge of the main properties of conventional solid state systems this research aims at the study and comprehension of the modifications of structural and electronic properties and of the occurrence of new physical phenomena in nanoscale confined systems. We exploit scanning probe microscopy (STM, AFM) and vibrational spectroscopy (Raman, Brilluoin) to investigate surfaces, clusters and nanostructures on surfaces, nanostructured and cluster assembled materials.
